 We are a Bluegrass band from central Indiana, who enjoy playing traditional Bluegrass and Gospel music while incorporating new and different musical styles into a Bluegrass format.Ê SYCAMOREÊ FLATS is a made up of six guys from central Indiana who like to pick and play and have a good time together.Ê We each have various musical backgrounds which bring a unique interpretation to the music.Ê

The Members:

Gary Long is from Morgantown, Indiana and he plays a 2004 Gold Plated Huber Kalamazoo.Ê He sings lead and harmony.Ê

Don Allen plays a 1957 Kay upright bass who he lovingly refers to as Big Judy.Ê He lives in Martinsville, Indiana and has been involved with music most of his life. Don sings backup vocals and harmony.Ê Traditional bluegrass is one of his favorite styles of music.

James Cave started playing at a very young age.Ê He comes from a musical familyÊ.Ê James adds a lot to the group by not only playing lead guitar on a Taylor guitar, but also adding swing chords and rhythm to the music. He lives in Trafalgar, Indiana Ê

Ryan Stackhouse grew up in Northern Indiana listening to old country and bluegrass music.Ê He studied jazz and music theory and plays mandolin and guitar.Ê He started building mandolins a little over a year ago and currently plays one of his own.Ê He is always in the process of building a new one.Ê Ê

Dave Yount who was found running rampant on the streets of Lebanon, Indiana where the group took pity on his soul and decided he could be their sound technician.Ê He has, 2 banjos, 2 guitars, 1 fiddle, 2 mountain dulcimers, and probably instruments hidden in closets that he never plays.Ê Dave also provides sound services for festivals, other acoustic groups, and gatherings in need of amplified sound services.
