Audie Blaylock joined Jimmy Martin in 1982 and played as a Sunny Mountain Boy for nine years. He has also performed with the legendary Red Allen, The Lynn Morris Band, Harley Allen, and Rhonda Vincent and the Rage.Ê 2001 was a busy year as Audie was honored to sing the song "Teach" with his long time musical hero David Crosby. The same year he made his Grand Ole Opry debut with the Rage. The band also garnered the IBMA Entertainer of the Year award and Audie's first of four consecutive years being nominated for Guitar Player of the Year. He then released his solo project, "Trains are the Only Way to Fly" which received critical acclaim. Country Standard Time raved, "From the opening title cut to the finale, Pages Of Time there is no mistaking Audie Blaylock's music as anything but hard driving, traditional-style bluegrass." In 2004 Audie formed his own band, Redline that includes former Sunny Mountain Boy, Chris Warner (banjo and vocals); Bobby Davis (bass); Stephen Mougin (mandolin and vocals); and newest band member Patrick McAvinue (fiddle). This band has made quite a name for themselves in a short period of time, performing their traditional bluegrass sound and headlining major festivals and events across the country. The band will begin recording their highly anticipated first album later in the year. Audie provided lead vocals and guitar for this year's Grammy Nominated "Tribute to Jimmy Martin: The King of Bluegrass, Vol. 1" album on the Koch Records label. The album spotlights the great songs of the legendary Jimmy Martin, with a stellar guest cast, including Harry Stinson, Michael Cleveland, Jason Moore, Sonya Isaacs, Jesse Brock and fellow alumni from the original Sunny Mountain Boys, Kenny Ingram, J. D. Crowe and Paul Williams. Please visit their website for complete listings! Please visit their website for complete listings!
