Great Grandpa Henry Good's Fiddle

My great Grandfather was a skilled musician yet he favored the fiddle, seen here held by his brother. They played barn dances all over the place and were quite well known apparently. Before my grandmother passed away, she gave me his fiddle. It's in rough shape, but it's a true family heirloom and I'm sure that I get my love of bluegrass from his roots.

My Grandmother was great organ player, she thrilled the bowling alleys of Ft. Wayne with her amazing tunes, all learned by ear. Music runs in my family. I play the banjo and it's my bass that is featured above in the logo. Just recently my own daughter has taken up the fiddle and I think my great Grandpa would love it if she had his fiddle some day.

Does anyone know much about an old fiddle? I know that he played this up to his death in 1936. It had some work done to it about 30 years ago but it's fallen into disrepair again. There is no bridge at the moment, but I'm thinking of getting it refurbished...

The bow is has an ivory frog with shell inlay. However, someone has cut off the hair.

Please email me personally at: Sherri@IndianaBluegrass.com if you have any information about this fiddle... I'd really appreciate it! Thanks!!!
